As a result, key items are missed that result in problems throughout the implementation.

Project Management

Has your organization already made its decision on a new system? Let me manage the project. My background and experience allow me to realistically assess the amount of time that each stage of a project realistically requires; I don’t try to cram square pegs into round holes. I know the steps required to maximize the chance of a successful system activation.

System Audits

• System Readiness Assessment - Is your organization ready to go down the long road of a system implementation? I can determine the data, people, technology, and business process issues that should be resolved before an organization even begins. Armed with the knowledge from the audit, an organization will know if it is in a position to implement a new system and, if not, what it needs to do to get there.This typically takes about a month to properly conduct.
• Mid-Implementation Audit - Is your organization’s implementation veering off course and in danger of missing its go-live date or exceeding its budget? I can identify the requisite steps to get the project back on track. This typically takes about two weeks to properly conduct.
• Post-Implementation Audit - Now that your organization is live with its new system, what people, data, documentation, reporting, and technical risks does it face? Is it using its new system efficiently? What can be improved? A post-implementation audit will identify areas of improvement and increase the ROI of a new system. This typically takes about a month to properly conduct.

Application Consulting

I am a certified functional Lawson Software HR and Payroll Consultant in versions 7, 8, and 9. I can configure the application, test it, troubleshoot it, and activate it.

End User Training

I provide customized on-site training in applications such as Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access and Excel, and the Lawson HR suite. I have taught dozens of courses to hundreds of students, showing clients how to save considerable time and expense. As much as I like to hear myself talk, my courses are very much interactive and “hands on.” At the end of my courses, attendees have a thorough understanding of the application and walk away with tangible items that they will use in their day jobs, such as reports.

Data Profiling

Some of the biggest mistakes made on IT projects and system implementations surround an organization’s data. Particularly with legacy systems, data over years tends to contain many errant values, orphaned records, duplicates, and general inconsistencies that need to be addressed at some point. Unfortunately, many organizations ignore this fact until the project has begun in earnest.
