The Author’s Perspective: A Podcast with Rich Wilson

Most of my blog posts deal with technology in one form or another. However, I like to think of myself as a multifaceted person. (Some people have used much more colorful and derisive adjectives, but we’ll save that for another day.) My friends know that I am a huge fan of Dream Theater, the US progressive metal band. I’ve actually met each member of the band a bunch of times and, aside from being insanely talented musicians, they’re all very nice guys. But I digress…
On a different note, ever since publishing Why New Systems Fail (which is itself rife with Dream Theater references), I have become very interested in how other authors do what they do. To that end, I am pleased to present a podcast with Rich Wilson, the author of the excellent book, Lifting Shadows: The Authorized Biography of Dream Theater.
In this podcast, Rich discusses the method to his writing madness, dealing with publishers, and all sorts of other topics relevant to writers of all kinds. If you’ve never heard of Dream Theater and are just interested in how people write books, then I believe that you’ll still find this podcast worth your time.
