It seems like everyone is blogging these days but some people are having more success than others. One of the most knowledgeable people I’ve met in the last year is my friend Jim Harris. Jim runs the Obsessive-Compulsive Data Quality blog and works as a writer for hire. Jim and I recently recorded a podcast in which he answers questions such as:

  • Would you recommend that for new bloggers just starting out?
  • What are some of your general recommendations on writing effective blog posts?
  • What is the biggest writing mistake you see bloggers make?
  • Can you describe the intersection of blogging social networking and why you think this is important?
  • Can you describe your views on the aspects of building a blogging community?

    Phil,

Thanks again for having me on your podcast series!

My two favorite parts of our podcast:
    1. My inability to pronounce the word “judicious”
    2. My inability to remember what a word I invented (“collablogaunity”) actually meant

Perhaps I should stick to writing and not speaking? Nah – I will be launching my own podcast series on my blog soon. Nothing near as good as yours – mine will be more of a “lunatic fringe” with me just talking to myself – my all time favorite pastime!

    Best Regards,

    Jim
