Travails of a Technology Consultant #1: Introductions

I stumbled across BitStrips yesterday. Suffice it to say, you can really waste an enormous amount of time creating very flattering cartoon versions of yourself–and much less flattering versions of others.

So, as if I don’t already spend far too much time in front of a computer, allow me to introduce a new segment on my site: Travails of a Technology Consultant. Until sued by someone in the cartoon (and successfully, I might add), I’m going to be creating one of these every Monday. That’s right. Start off the week with little humor from a guy with a big ego.

Here’s the first episode:

I suspect that one of several things will happen:

  • I’ll attempt to impart technology- or business-related wisdom via a humorous medium
  • I’ll become really, really tired of this and it’ll die a quiet death
  • I’ll become an Internet sensation and my third book will be a series of similar vignettes

Just out of curiosity, may I ask you to participate in a really quick, completely antonymous poll about my newfangled cartoon?

Look out, world. I’m a cartoon now with some crazy superpowers.

Making the little cartoons for my blog is the most fun part of every blog post for me- I think it’s a great idea, and am looking forward to seeing what kind of trouble the cartoon you gets into.

I think injecting a little humor and a healthy dose of creativity is what helps a blogger differentiate themselves from the rest of the blogging world. It’s all about striking the right balance and keeping it topical, which I am sure you will have no problems doing.

    Thanks for the comments, guys.

@James – don’t worry… I have got some good ones lined up. Expect plenty of trouble.

@Rob – I agree. I think that the best blogs are those that can infuse humor with serious topics. The last thing that I want is to be too stiff.
